ONTARIO TRAVEL ONLINE PACKAGES OPPORTUNITY: WINTER CAMPAIGN

Posted by Ginny Henry | September 21, 2016 | BruceGreySimcoe, experiences, Ontario, ontariotravel.net, OTMPC, packages, tourism, tourism operator
Early in the season OTMPC’s 2016/17 Winter Campaign will inspire consumers to give the gift of an Ontario getaway and, well into the new year, to book an unforgettable experience with family, friends or just for themselves. Consumers will be able to choose from a menu of enticing options including indoor or outdoor winter adventures to seasonal festivals, live theatre and spa retreats. The campaign launches mid-November and will run through to the end of March 2017.

Winter gift and getaway packages that align with the campaign will be displayed in their respective experience pages on ontariotravel.net and have the potential to be used as content within our owned and earned channels: the website (content and itineraries), media relations, digital and social media, e-mail, etc. All packages are integrated with the Trip Planner tool, allowing travellers to include them as they create personalized itineraries.

There will be a particular focus on packages for the following experiences that are available mid-November 2016 through to May of 2017:
  • Outdoor Adventures
  • Spas and Wellness
  • Arts and Culture
  • Urban Adventures
  • Fishing
  • Food and Drink
  • Snowmobiling
  • Festivals, Events and Live Music

The opportunity to post experiential criteria-based packages is available to industry partners free of charge. If you are interested in submitting a package for consideration, please do so by the deadline of September 29, 2016.

MAXIMIZE YOUR VISIBILITY ON ONTARIOTRAVEL.NET

Use ontariotravel.net to promote your business and buyable experiences. Last year we welcomed over 4.8 million visitors to the site and directed almost a million leads to industry partners. Entering packages is a simple process. Log in to www.tourismpartners.com, click on the ‘Manage Packages’ link at the bottom of the page and work through the flow. It is very user friendly and prompts you for all required information. Links to the package criteria and guidelines are included in the flow - take a look at them before starting to enter your information. Each package must be accompanied by a single image that reflects the consumer experience (minimum 1920 x 800 pixels, maximum 4 MB). Also, please ensure that the URL that you provide is a link to where consumers can find complete details and pricing of the package on your site, not to your home page.

Once a package is entered it takes about five days for it to be reviewed, approved and translated before it is live on the site. Packages come down from the site once the ‘End Date’ has passed but remain in your account; you can edit existing packages or add new ones at any time. Even if you do not have packages that align with this particular campaign, this is a good time to review your packages and make any necessary edits or add new offers.
