The tourism and hospitality industry is experiencing an increased number of American visitors this summer.  Katherine Radin explores the reasons for this increase in her article, “American tourists flock north as Canadian dollar plummets”.
 
Work continues on Talisman Resort in Grey Highlands.  Once the largest ski resort in Ontario, Talisman closed its doors and after being completed renovated, will be re-open as a hotel and spa in 2016.  Located in the Beaver Valley, this is good news for the local economy.  CTV News Barrie’s Rob Cooper filed this story.
 
Ontario By Bike has launched its new website, making it easy for cyclists to access cycle-friendly business listings, maps, route information, events.  The new site is easily viewed on any device, making it a handy travel tool.  Both Grey and Simcoe Counties are members of Ontario By Bike, with routes featured under “Great Places to Cycle” on the website.  In addition, almost 50 certified bike friendly businesses throughout the two counties have listings on the site so cycling tourists can quickly find accommodations, restaurants, bike repair shops and more geared to meet their travelling needs.    Check out the website.
