Registration Open for UpSkill Tourism Micro-credential Program Winter Modules
Georgian’s Continuing Education and Corporate Training department is proud to introduce the UpSkill Tourism micro-credential program. The project is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Sectorial Initiatives Program and is specifically designed to respond to the challenges in the tourism and hospitality sectors across BruceGreySimcoe and in surrounding areas.

The UpSkill Tourism micro-credential program is FREE for eligible participants and offers two distinct and unique micro-certificates aimed at addressing critical challenges in the tourism and hospitality sector:

  1. Frontline Service is designed to reskill and upskill frontline service workers.
  2. Managers and Aspiring Leaders supports the development of aspiring leaders, supervisors, managers and business owners.

Modules have been designed based on sectoral-focused feedback from stakeholders and industry employers. Participants can choose from a variety of topics and are required to complete five out of seven available modules in order to achieve the final UpSkill Tourism micro-credential digital badge, along with a monetary completion bonus. This program will provide participants with the tools and techniques needed to succeed in today’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Eligible participants include employed individuals as well as unemployed, underemployed, underrepresented groups and minorities (e.g. persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, women, youth and newcomers seeking employment opportunities). Specialized content and additional supports will be available to enhance learning where required.
