Posted by Ginny Henry | July 26, 2017
Working in collaboration with the Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association (ORHMA) and Tourism HR Canada, OTEC has developed a training program entitled "It's Your  Shift" for the hospitality industry.

The training program was developed to support the Province of Ontario's Sexual Violence & Harassment Action Plan and the province's recently announced support of survivors.

The official training launch is September 2017 and he course consists of five training modules, five case studies and one Manager's Toolkit.  The program will be offered to all employees, supervisors, managers and students in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Benefits to Tourism Operators
Frontline tourism employees will know what sexual harassment is and know what they can co to help prevent it, respond to it and promote a safe environment for everyone.  Managers will also learn how to support their front teams to foster a safe workplace environment, meet their legal obligations and support survivors of sexual violence and harassment.  Human Resource managers and owners/operators will have access to resources and tools to integrate training and policies.
