Simcoe Muskoka Workforce Development Board Seeks Representation from Tourism Sector

Posted by Alex Hogan | January 29, 2013 | Simcoe Muskoka Workforce Development Board, workforce
The SMWDB functions as a neutral broker of research, disseminator of information, and facilitator of collaborative partnership development.  Operating as part of the Local Boards Network of Ontario, it is 1 of 25 local planning board areas funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to conduct and distribute local labour market research and engage community stakeholders in a planning process that supports local solutions to local issues

The Directors of the Board are representative of various constituency groups within Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka. Directors represent Labour, Business, Educator/Trainers, Women, Persons with Disabilities, Francophones, Visible Minorities and Youth. They ensure the needs of their communities and specific groups are considered in all aspects of employment and training.  Currently the Board does not have representation from the Tourism sector and encourages anyone with an interest and experience in the sector to put forward their name for a position with SMWDB.
