The Summer Experience Program provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, and Aboriginal organizations and First Nations, to create career-related summer employment opportunities for students in the key ministry sectors outlined in the Program Guidelines.
Listed below are the ministry priorities for the year, to enable you to better align projects for your Summer Experience Program students. This will ensure improved outcomes for the students, your organization and the ministry.
The Ministry’s priorities for SEP positions in the tourism sector are to:
-
Work in the tourism sector to attract new tourism investment and provide support to tourism regions, sector associations and Aboriginal tourism organizations.
-
Support product development, marketing, workforce development and investment attraction.
-
Provide tourists with educational, cultural, recreational, entertainment experiences and opportunities.
SEP guidelines are available on the Grants Ontario website,
www.grants.gov.on.ca. Please review the Program Guidelines and Terms and Conditions in order to assess your organization’s eligibility and to familiarize yourself with the specific program criteria for hiring a summer student.
All applications must be submitted online, in either English or French through Grants Ontario, an online grant application system.
If you have already successfully registered with Grants Ontario, you do not need to do so again. You may log in to Grants Ontario and access the SEP application. For instructions on how to log in to Grants Ontario, please refer to the Grants Ontario System Applicant Reference Guide at:
Reference Guide for Applicants.
If you have NOT already successfully registered with Grants Ontario, you must first create a ONe-key account and password and then register with Grants Ontario before you can apply. If you are new to the SEP program, you should complete this process as soon as possible to avoid deadline conflicts. For instructions on how to create a ONe-key account and register with Grants Ontario, please refer to the Grants Ontario System Applicant Registration Guide on the Grants Ontario Portal: Applicant Registration Guide.
Please note that the process of confirming organization registration and the subsequent issue of an enrolment ID number and PIN can take up to five business days. It is recommended that you enroll no later than February 19, 2015 to avoid any potential delays in submitting your online application.
The deadline date for receipt of completed applications is midnight (EST) on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
Applications will be reviewed to determine completeness and eligibility for funding. Eligibility or acceptance of a completed application does not ensure funding.
