Ontario's Great Lakes Strategy

Posted by Alex Hogan | December 18, 2012 | environment, Great Lakes, Ontario Great Lakes Strategy
Ontario's Great Lakes Strategy focuses on engaging and empowering actions by all partners on Great Lakes - from provincial ministries to local service clubs - and on restoring Great Lakes water, beaches and coastal areas.  It aims to conserve biodiversity and deal with invasive species. The Strategy supports science to guide our Great Lakes work and addresses the need for climate change adaptation.

The strategy builds on engagement with the Great Lakes community including First Nations and Metis communities and Great Lakes stakeholders and feedback received since the release of the draft strategy in June 2012 and the 2009 discussion paper Healthy Great Lakes, Strong Ontario.
