Orillia Has Untapped Potential as a Cycling Destination

In a presentation to council, Brendan Matheson of Cycle Simcoe talked about the tourism possibilities that could be generated by the city's existing trail network.

Cycle Simcoe is a tourism initiative geared to promoting area trails and routes to attract cycling tourists.  It was created through a partnership with Tourism Simcoe County, the Barrie/Simcoe Cycling Club and Oro-Medonte Township, the test community.  Funding and project support was provided by RTO7, Tourism Simcoe County and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
