Orillia Secures Funding for Trail Connection over Highway 11 to Old Barrie Road

The City of Orillia was successful in its application to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for a matching grant of $325,000 from the Ontario Municipal Cycling Infrastructure Program (OMCIP) for the construction of a new bicycle and pedestrian trail over Highway 11 connecting Highway 12 and Old Barrie Road.

Strengthening Tourism Sector Through Research
In an effort to strengthen the Orillia and area tourism sector, a new research project is compiling an inventory of positive tourism assets available for development and promotion in Ontario’s Lake Country. The study, which will be completed by June, will also identify tourism opportunities in the region for the purpose of attracting new tourism development.
