Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain Surpasses 100,000 Guest Visits in F’2014

Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain welcomed their 100,000th guest for fiscal year 2014 last week. This milestone is a first for the health & wellness tourism attraction located minutes from the Blue Mountains and Collingwood.  The continued growth of the Spa is a reflection of strong tourism and economic development in the South Georgian Bay area.

Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain opened its doors in December 2006 and has become a tourism icon in Ontario. The Spa has received many awards & accolades over the years including being featured in the “There’s No Place Like This” Ontario Tourism television campaign during the Winter Olympics in 2010 and 2014.

With its focus on health & wellness, Scandinave Spa offers a serene, natural outdoor environment for visitors to explore year-round. Guests relax & rejuvenate in the Hot Baths, Cold Plunges, Thermal & Nordic Waterfalls, Finnish Sauna, Eucalyptus Steam Room and relaxation areas. Guests can also book a Registered massage treatment with complimentary access to the renowned Baths.

“The day-trippers and overnight visitors Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain brings to our area are key contributors to the local economy,” says Mylisa Henderson, Director of Marketing and Sales.  “Tourism is a four- season industry here, more and more jobs & businesses in the region are directly supporting the industry.”

The Scandinave Spa is one of the “weather proof” attractions offering soft adventure in every season. “In the wintertime, for example, our guests are looking for a truly Canadian outdoor experience other than skiing,” says Henderson. The Spa also partners with a variety of accommodators and other local businesses so often visitors are spending 2-3 nights in the area. Getaway packages are promoted on the Spa’s website.
