Cycling tourists, rather than motorists, tend to travel away from urban attractions and spend more on food and services after working up an appetite on the road.

Although there is no national plan to develop cycling into a tourism product, Ontario is developing initiatives to attract this market, as is BruceGreySimcoe.

Read CBC News' article, "Is Canada missing the boat on cycling tourists?" for the complete story.

Hi Kathie! RTO7 doesn't have a program but is working with tourism partners on various cycling initiatives, including one with Cycle Simcoe - http://cyclesimcoe.ca. Here is a link to the summary of the Partnership Funding project: http://rto7.ca/RTO7/files/24/24ecb022-7bf8-457c-9b32-d13e76922498.pdf

Hope this info is helpful!
