Orillia Secures Funding for Trail Connection over Highway 11 to Old Barrie Road

The City of Orillia was successful in its application to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for a matching grant of $325,000 from the Ontario Municipal Cycling Infrastructure Program (OMCIP) for the construction of a new bicycle and pedestrian trail over Highway 11 connecting Highway 12 and Old Barrie Road.

Ontario Dedicates Simcoe County Highway to Champion Canadian Skier

Ontario has dedicated Highway 93 to honour the memory of Sarah Burke, champion freestyle skier and member of the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame.

The Sarah Burke Memorial Highway runs for 24 kilometres through Simcoe County, where Burke was born and raised.
